MY LITTLE WORLD OF ZAR
Jacara Zar was first created in 1990. I was looking at the pages of Swamp Thing by
Alan Moore drawn by
John Tottleben. It was a
Jackboxer character as told in the caption with all the mask and goggles. I'v been a fan on the art of Swamp Thing, which back then was the only issue I had.
I started drawing the character until I wanted to create my own comics based on fantasy and my favorite movies. "
Mandirigma Ng Latian" (Swamp Warrior) was created.
My idea of the drawing was really based on the Jackboxer until Jacara Zar evolved into all
sorts of designs.
In 2010, I published my third, little ashcan comics called
Yew Stupid Basturd! #3, which featured an entire issue of
Jacara Zar #1. Joined me as my editor was
Nikko Sansolis. Eventually, I became very serious, realising it is time to publish a real printed version of Jacara Zar. In
November 2011, Jacara Zar #1 was published!
A year has skipped after my wife delivered our first baby until April 2013
Jacara Zar #2 with a gatefold cover. Joining me this time was good friend
Robin C. Rivero. Big thanks to
Andrew Villar of
Ambush comics for making my first dream cover.
